Why Orange County gets its own page
Orange County isn't one city. It's 34 incorporated cities and several unincorporated communities between Los Angeles County and San Diego County, and people here search for the county as a place. DataForSEO shows about 880 monthly searches for "website design orange county", and around 1,000 each for "web design in orange county", "web design company in orange county" and "web design in orange county ca". Phrases like "orange county web design company" and "web developer orange county" add about 880 more each.
This page targets the county as a whole. If you work mainly in Los Angeles, our page on web design in Los Angeles is written for that market instead, and we keep the two separate so they don't compete with each other.
| What people type into Google | US searches per month |

Orange County demand by trade
Searches that use "orange county" with a trade are lower than city searches, because many people type their own city instead, such as "plumber irvine" or "roofer huntington beach". Even so, plumbers lead at about 1,600 a month, hair salons and therapists near 1,000, and contractors around 880. Roofing and real estate agents show about 590, electricians 480, and HVAC and landscaping around 390.
What this means in practice: an OC business usually needs a county page and a handful of city pages. The county page catches broad searches; the city pages catch the person in Tustin or Laguna Niguel who searches by name.

The results for "website design orange county" are crowded with local agencies, several with "orange county" in their domain name, plus Yelp and The Manifest. Almost none publish a price.

That's the map pack for a plumber search from Santa Ana. Notice how the pins spread from Anaheim to Costa Mesa and Irvine. In a county this dense, Google leans on distance, so a clear service area and city pages help you show up where you want to work.
North, central and south county
People in OC think in regions.
- North County: Anaheim, Fullerton, Brea, Placentia, Yorba Linda, Buena Park, La Habra and Cypress
- Central County: Santa Ana, Orange, Tustin, Garden Grove, Westminster, Fountain Valley and Costa Mesa
- Coast: Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, Dana Point and San Clemente
- South County: Irvine, Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Laguna Niguel, Rancho Santa Margarita, Ladera Ranch and San Juan Capistrano
Housing varies a lot between them. North and central county have many homes from the 1950s through the 1970s, with original plumbing and electrical. Irvine and much of south county are master-planned communities with HOAs and newer construction. The coast has its own issues: salt air, older beach cottages and expensive remodels. A page for each region you serve can talk about those differences in a way a single "we serve all of Orange County" line can't.
HOAs and planned communities
Large parts of Irvine, Ladera Ranch, Rancho Santa Margarita and Mission Viejo sit under homeowner associations. For contractors, roofers, painters and landscapers, that means customers often need HOA approval before work starts. A page that explains how you handle HOA submittals, color approvals and paperwork answers a question many competitors ignore, and it shows you've done this before.
Weather and seasons in OC
Orange County has mild weather most of the year, but it isn't free of seasonal work. Santa Ana winds in fall raise fire risk inland and in the canyons, and they push demand for defensible space clearing and roof inspections. Winter storms are short but can cause roof leaks, slides and drainage problems. Summer heat inland, from Anaheim to Lake Forest, keeps AC companies busy while the coast stays cool. Pages that follow that calendar fit what people search.
Trades that do well in Orange County
Plumbers lead the trade searches. Many OC homes have aging galvanized or copper pipes, and slab leaks and repiping are common jobs. Pages for repiping, leak detection, water heaters and drain cleaning, plus city pages, cover most of what people look for. See websites for plumbers.
Contractors and remodelers compete on trust and portfolio. Project pages with photos, the city, the scope and how long it took do more than a generic gallery. Our contractor websites page explains the structure.
Therapists show about 1,000 searches, which is high for this kind of term. A clear page about who you see, how sessions work, fees or insurance, and whether you offer telehealth across California makes the decision easier for someone who is already anxious about calling.
Salons depend on photos, stylists and booking. If you're in a busy area like downtown Fullerton, Old Towne Orange or the coast, say so.
California licensing
California's CSLB covers nearly every building trade, and its advertising rules reach your website too. Your number goes in the site footer and on the about page, plus any service page where you quote work. Check the current CSLB rules for your classification.
Pages that make sense in OC
| Page | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Home | Your service and the part of OC you cover |
| Service pages | One for each main service |
| City pages | Irvine, Anaheim, Huntington Beach and others you work in |
| HOA page | How you handle approvals, for exterior trades |
| About and license | Team, CSLB number, insurance |
| Reviews | Recent, naming the city where possible |
Spanish and Vietnamese-speaking customers
Santa Ana and Anaheim have large Spanish-speaking communities, and Westminster and Garden Grove are home to Little Saigon. If your team serves customers in Spanish or Vietnamese, pages in those languages can reach people other businesses don't. We only add them if someone can answer those calls.
Picking a website designer in Orange County
OC has plenty of agencies, many of them good, and many priced for larger companies. When you compare, ask for the total price in writing, find out who owns the domain and site after launch, and ask what happens to monthly fees if you leave. Ask to see sites they built for a business like yours, not just brand projects. A plumber in Garden Grove and a medical spa in Newport Beach need very different sites, and a good designer will tell you which pages you actually need instead of selling the biggest package.
Medical, wellness and office-based practices
Orange County has a large number of dental offices, med spas, chiropractors, physical therapists and counseling practices, especially around Irvine, Newport Beach and Mission Viejo. For these, the website does most of the selling before the first visit. Pages for each treatment, a plain explanation of insurance or fees, photos of the office and the people, and clear parking directions in busy areas like Newport Center or the Irvine Spectrum all help. Patients often compare three or four practices before booking, so details that look minor can decide it.
Keeping the site current
Update your banner and one or two service pages each season: roof checks before the winter rains, AC service before inland heat, brush clearing before Santa Ana wind season. Add photos from recent jobs and a few new reviews. It takes little time and keeps the site matched to what people are searching that month.
Photos from real OC jobs
Show a repiped house in Fullerton or a new patio in Lake Forest. OC customers trust real local work far more than stock images.
Real data from one of our sites
Here you're looking at Search Console figures from one of our client builds, anonymized and located outside California. OC competition is stiffer, so expect the same direction but your own pace.
What OC business sites get wrong
- One page for the whole county. People search their own city. Add the ones you serve.
- No CSLB number. California customers check, and the rules expect it.
- Ignoring HOAs. For exterior work, explaining approvals wins trust.
- Beach photos for an inland business. Show your real jobs.
How we build Orange County sites

What an Orange County site costs
