Websites for Delaware businesses
Delaware has only three counties, but they behave like three different states. New Castle County in the north, with Wilmington, Newark, Middletown and Bear, is part of the Philadelphia metro and full of commuters. Kent County, around Dover, is the capital region with Dover Air Force Base and farmland. Sussex County in the south has the beaches: Lewes, Rehoboth, Bethany, Fenwick and a fast-growing population of retirees.
A good Delaware site names the towns you really work in, and if you cross into Pennsylvania, Maryland or New Jersey, it says so.
Where Delaware searches for web design
Dover shows 40 searches a month and Wilmington 30. Newark, Lewes and Middletown show about 10 each, and the beach towns barely register. The state name gets more searches than any city.

That's the map for plumbers in Wilmington. Plumbing is a fast, local search, and these three spots get most of the calls.
| What people type into Google | US searches per month |

| web design delaware | 70 |
"Web design delaware", "delaware web design" and "web design in delaware" each show about 70 searches a month. DataForSEO also shows "web design wilmington delaware" at 50.

The three counties
New Castle. Older rowhomes in Wilmington, suburban developments in Pike Creek and Hockessin, and new construction around Middletown. Many customers work in Philadelphia or for large banks and chemical companies, and they compare several sites before they call.
Kent. Dover, Smyrna, Camden and Milford. Military families from the air base, farm country and a growing number of new homes. Competition online is lighter.
Sussex. Lewes, Rehoboth Beach, Milton, Millsboro, Georgetown and Selbyville. Retirees moving in, second homes and summer rentals. Cleaning, property management, HVAC, landscaping and builders do well here, and many owners search from Maryland, DC or Pennsylvania.

Licenses
Delaware requires a state business license for most work, and electricians, plumbers and HVAC contractors hold state trade licenses. We list the numbers you hold in the footer and on the about page.
Beach season
From Memorial Day to Labor Day, Sussex County fills up. Rental cleaners, pest control, pool and AC companies need pages that explain turnover schedules, how to book and how fast you respond. In the off season, focus shifts to remodels and new builds for owners who live there year-round.

Sussex County's growth
Sussex County has been one of the fastest-growing places on the East Coast, driven by retirees moving from Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. Communities west of Route 1, around Millsboro, Milton, Harbeson, Ocean View and Selbyville, have filled with new homes. New residents need landscapers, HVAC companies, cleaners, handymen, pool services and pest control, and they don't know local names yet. They search, read reviews and compare sites. A business with pages for each town it serves, plus reviews from nearby neighbors, will win many of those calls.
Many of these communities have HOAs with rules about landscaping, exterior changes and contractors. Mentioning your experience with HOA approvals on the right pages helps.
Wilmington and New Castle County
Wilmington has old rowhomes in Trolley Square and the Highlands, grand homes in Westover Hills and suburbs stretching to Hockessin, Pike Creek, Newark and Bear. Many residents work in finance, chemicals and healthcare. Middletown and Townsend to the south have grown with new subdivisions. Businesses here often work in Pennsylvania's Chester and Delaware counties and in Cecil County, Maryland.
Delaware has no sales tax
Delaware has no general sales tax, and shoppers come from Pennsylvania, Maryland and New Jersey to buy big items. Retailers near the border, especially in Newark, Christiana and the beach outlets, should mention it and give directions from nearby states.
