Websites for Georgia businesses
Georgia has one giant metro and several strong regional cities. Metro Atlanta holds more than half the state's people, spread across dozens of suburbs that each feel like their own town: Marietta, Alpharetta, Roswell, Lawrenceville, Peachtree City, Kennesaw, McDonough and many more. Outside it, Savannah anchors the coast, Augusta sits on the South Carolina line, Macon is the center of the state, Columbus borders Alabama and Athens is built around the University of Georgia. South Georgia has Valdosta, Albany and a lot of farm country.
For a local business, that means people search by suburb or city, almost never by state. The site that wins names those places and backs it up with real work.
Where Georgia searches for web design
Savannah leads at 260 searches a month, and DataForSEO puts "web design savannah georgia" at the same 260. Atlanta shows 210 in Ads, while Labs reports 720 for "web design atlanta georgia". Augusta and Macon each show 140, Marietta 90, and Athens and Alpharetta 30 each. Columbus barely registers for web design, though it's a large city.

That's the Google map for HVAC in Savannah. Coastal heat and humidity keep AC searches high for most of the year.
| What people type into Google | US searches per month |
|---|---|
| web design georgia | 40 |
| website design georgia | 20 |
| georgia web design company | 10 |
Statewide phrases are small. "Web design georgia" and "web design ga" show about 40 searches a month, "website design ga" another 40 and "georgia web design" around 10 in Ads. DataForSEO puts "georgia web design" and "web design in georgia" at 40. Almost all demand is local.

Georgia's markets
Metro Atlanta suburbs
Cobb, Gwinnett, North Fulton, Cherokee, Forsyth, Henry and Fayette counties. Each has its own character: older brick ranches in Smyrna and Decatur, big new subdivisions in Forsyth and Cherokee, HOAs almost everywhere. Customers search "plumber Alpharetta" or "roofer Peachtree City". A contractor who serves the north side should have a page for each suburb they work in, not just "Atlanta".
Savannah and the coast
Savannah, Pooler, Richmond Hill, Tybee Island and the Golden Isles around Brunswick and St. Simons. Historic homes downtown, new construction along I-95, port and logistics work, and short-term rentals near the beach. Hurricane season shapes the year here.
Augusta and the CSRA
Augusta, Evans, Martinez and Grovetown, plus North Augusta and Aiken across the river in South Carolina. Fort Eisenhower and a large medical community bring steady relocation. Many businesses here work in both states.
Macon, Warner Robins and Middle Georgia
Robins Air Force Base, Mercer University and a central location make this a strong market for home services, medical practices and contractors.
Columbus, Athens and South Georgia
Columbus with Fort Moore, Athens with UGA and a lot of rental housing, and Valdosta, Albany and Tifton serving wide rural areas. Competition online is often light.

Licensing in Georgia
Georgia's State Licensing Board for Residential and General Contractors licenses many builders, and electricians, plumbers, HVAC contractors and low-voltage contractors hold state trade licenses. Many cities and counties also require business licenses. We show the numbers you hold, with the board or office that issued them, in the footer and on the about page.
Weather and search in Georgia
Long, hot summers make AC repair a peak search from May through September. Spring storms bring hail and tornado damage, especially in North and Middle Georgia. The coast watches hurricanes from June to November. Pollen season in spring brings pressure washing and HVAC filter searches across metro Atlanta. Winters are mild, so outdoor work like landscaping, fencing and concrete runs almost all year.
Trades that do well online
HVAC and plumbing. Heat, humidity and older homes keep these busy everywhere.
Roofing. Storms and hail across North and Middle Georgia, hurricanes on the coast.
Pressure washing and exterior cleaning. Pollen, mildew and red clay make this a big category.
Landscaping and lawn care. A long growing season and many HOAs.
Pest control and termites. Warm, humid conditions mean steady year-round demand.
Pages we plan for Georgia businesses
| Page | When it's worth it |
|---|---|
| Home | Always, naming your base city and main service |
| Service pages | One per service |
| Suburb or city pages | Each place you work with real searches |
| South Carolina or Alabama towns | If you cross the line |
| Storm or hurricane page | Roofing, trees and restoration |
| About | Licenses, insurance and team |
Savannah's search numbers
Savannah's 260 searches a month for web design are high for a city its size, and they fit what's happening there. The port has grown into one of the busiest in the country, new warehouses and plants line I-16 and I-95, and Pooler, Richmond Hill and Rincon keep adding neighborhoods. Tourism downtown and on Tybee brings restaurants, tours, rentals and shops that depend on their websites. Historic district homes need specialized work, from old wood windows to plaster and brick, and the review rules there mean customers look for contractors with experience.
Middle and South Georgia in more detail
Macon and Warner Robins share a market built around Robins Air Force Base, Mercer University and healthcare. Military families move in and out regularly and need movers, cleaners, property managers and contractors on short notice. Further south, Valdosta has Moody Air Force Base and Valdosta State, Albany serves a large farm region and Tifton, Thomasville and Statesboro are smaller hubs. Pecans, peanuts, cotton and timber shape the economy, and ag businesses serve wide rural areas.
The Georgia mountains and lakes
North Georgia, from Blue Ridge and Ellijay to Dahlonega, Helen and Clayton, has cabins, vacation rentals, wineries and apple orchards. Lake Lanier, Lake Oconee and Lake Hartwell have lake homes with docks and seawalls. Cabin rental managers, cleaners, dock builders and builders who work on steep lots all depend on online searches, often from Atlanta residents looking for a weekend place.
Augusta and Columbus work on two sides of a river
Augusta businesses serve Columbia County, Richmond County and North Augusta and Aiken in South Carolina, while Columbus businesses cross into Phenix City, Alabama. In both cases, customers search their own town and want to see the right state license for where they live. A page for each side of the river, with photos and reviews from jobs there, lets you rank in both states without one page competing with the other.
Athens and the college towns
Athens has UGA and a large rental market, plus a lively downtown full of restaurants and music venues. Landlords and property managers need cleaners, painters and repair crews between leases, and game weekends fill rentals and restaurants. Statesboro, Valdosta and Carrollton have the same pattern on a smaller scale.

Metro Atlanta in detail
This page covers Georgia outside the capital region. If your customers are inside the Perimeter or in suburbs like Decatur, Sandy Springs and Alpharetta, read our separate guide to web design in Atlanta, built from Atlanta searches, where house cleaning leads the service trades.
Real data from one of our sites
A client site we built and track in Search Console, with the name hidden. It's not in Georgia, but the pattern is typical for a new local site.
Mistakes on Georgia small business sites
- Only "Atlanta" on the page when most jobs are in Cumming or Woodstock.
- No license number.
- Hurricane pages that go up in September. Have them ready by June.
- No South Carolina pages for Augusta businesses that work in Aiken.
